Incorporate 'A Google a Day' search challenge into your classroom

Google A Day

A Google A Day Search Challenge is a question that cannot be answered by one simple Google search. Multiple challenges, complete with slides detailing ways to complete the challenges, have been provided by Google in theirsearch lesson resources. A perfect way to develop students' search and problem solving skills. Use these questions as quick challenges posed to students at the beginning of the day or during a lesson.
The above question requires you to find out pieces of information and then complete a follow up search based on that information:
a) Who or what the Hamangia are.
b) The river home to the Hamangia.
c) The length of the river.
We live in a world where information is very accessible, but we still need the skills to find the right information. Acting upon and combining the right piece of information is important. It is not always as simple as, 'Google it!'
