iOS 7.0 basics for teachers & students. Why you should update! #vicpln #iOS7

I have had few questions from friends and family about where things have disappeared to on their devices after updating to iOS 7.0. Below are a few of the changes that might result in you wasting time trying to figure out where certain things have been moved.

Access Control Center from lock screen, home screen and in app screen by swiping up with one finger.

In the Control Center you will find Orientation Lock, Air Play, WiFi, Airplane Mode, Camera and Timer. Rather than swiping up and then scrolling across you simply swipe up with two fingers.

Multitask between apps by by scrolling up with four fingers or double tapping the home screen still.

Same gesture enhanced result! Rather than simply having the icons you now have the icons and screen to access. To force quit the apps scroll up on the screen image of the app not the icon.

Some other awesome features:

  • Slide from anywhere on lock screen to unlock screen.
  • Multitasking personalised to how you use apps and the device.

Why should you update?

  • Multitasking is the main reason to update. Multitasking on the iPad has always been a much debated issues. I personally found multitasking in iOS alright but have friends who hate it. This update makes multitasking more intuitive and much easier.
  • Control Center changes make it much easier to use Airplay, lock/unlock screen orientation and connect to wifi.
  • AirDrop!
