Blockly another resource for students to learn programming from google #coding

I became aware of Blockly from a post by Richard Byrne on Free Technology for Teachers. Which you can check out here!

I had a chance to have a play around on Blockly today and I feel that Blockly is a great resource which could be used to help students learn programming.

I am using Scratch with my students and sometimes feel that Scratch has my students focus on  the animation side of programming which makes them forget about the ability to build applications.

I see Blockly as great way to remind students that programming is more than simply animation and provide another avenue to learn how to build applications.
